Nuru massage originates from Kawasaki, Japan, and its name means "slippery" in Japanese. The main feature is the use of a special colorless gel made from seaweed (Nori), which is extremely slippery and pleasant to touch.
The masseuse covers both herself and the client with gel, then uses her entire body to massage — sliding over the client in various directions creating an intense sensory experience. This full body contact is the foundation of Nuru massage and distinguishes it from all other types.
Nuru gel is hypoallergenic, odorless, and easily washes off with water. Its unique consistency ensures smooth, uninterrupted contact between bodies.
Nuru massage typically lasts 60–90 minutes. The massage is performed on a special waterproof mat and includes a final shower.
